I was surprised by the size of the plants as being full size that would not be possible in my Aerogarden 9 pod Bounty hydroponic set up. Because of their size, I’m glad that I used the 6 inch extensions between each row to provide more space between each row of plants as well allowing light penetration. I haven’t bought greens for my salads in many months. With all 20 plant cells filled, I find that I need to top up water every second day. It appears to go through about 1-1/2 gallons of water in that period of time which I would expect from these full size plants. The setup includes a top row with 4 watercress plants. The next row includes 1-Swiss chard, 1-Spinach and 2-Kale. The next row has 2-Sweet red pepper plants and 1-Green leaf lettuce and 1-Romaine lettuce. Finally the final two rows have 8-Strawberry plants. I have WiFi switches that operate the lights (16 hours on) and the pump ( On for 30 minutes at every hour ). I use A.I. to adjust the nutrient combinations ( add extra elements when needed ) when I notice certain plant conditions. I use a transfer pump to change the tank solution every 2 weeks. I add the nutrient solution weekly. It’s a nice setup for an apartment like mine.
